Scarab originally started and evolved into a comprehensive crypto project with the goal of providing $DUNG holders with a range of helpful tools and features to navigate the world of trading cryptocurrencies efficiently. With a focus on multi-wallet portfolio management, as well as buying, selling, and sniping new token listings on Ethereum, Scarab offered a wide array of functionalities to enhance users' trading experience.
We later began development of our own trading platform SDK, with the aim of utilizing ERC-4337 Account Abstraction smart wallets. After extensive testing with all possible AA providers and bundlers, it was concluded that Account Abstraction was not yet reliable nor cost-efficient enough for trading. This may change in the future, but current iterations of this tech are not yet viable and have proven costly to users due to the higher gas fees AA requires on Ethereum.
With Account Abstraction ruled out as an option for private key security, we set our sights on a new solution for our "degen wallet infrastructure", Turnkey. With Turnkey, we are able to provide exceptional security that is on par with AA smart wallets, while not exposing private keys to our servers. Turnkey utilizes passkeys which provides an extra layer of security for our users, while providing a similar "look and feel" as Account Abstraction. Also, unlike AA, Turnkey is compatible with all EVM chains, which will allow Scarab's SDK to support trading on other popular networks.
Our SDK is a powerful trading platform that can bring fast & secure trading to any project. Our first partnership was secured in Nov 2023 with Defined.fi. As Scarab had utilized Defined's powerful API from the beginning, it only made sense to bring both of our projects together in an effort to provide an exceptional trading platform for our users.
On April 5th 2024, Scarab was officially acquired by Defined, allowing us to work exclusively with their team to develop the best trading platform in DeFi.
Given our initial goal of building a sniper bot for newly listed shitcoins, it made sense to build our product around the theme of a dung beetle, or Scarab. It was only natural that our token should therefore be called DUNG.
